Minimum Viable Productivity

By

In business if you want to create something new then you create something called minimum viable product, also know as MVP.

The idea is that it helps to test if your product is something people will pay for before you spent years in perfecting it.

So you go around telling your ideas to the world. Don’t worry the idea isn’t worth anything – execution is. Based on your skill and feedback from people you trust, you create a working small version.

And then release it to the market. If enough people buy in then you know there is a demand. Now you can work hard on it, invest more money and make it as perfect as possible.

But that’s for people who want to create something and share it with the world. What about you…

Daily Work

Similarly to the MVP, there is a new concept for you – Minimum Viable Productivity. You make plans and write it down in calendar all the things you want to do.

These are things which once you accomplish – you can say that your day was productive.

But there are surprises in life and at times there might come situation where you can’t do all of them. So what do you do?

I suggest you make your version of Minimum Viable Productivity. Out of all the task at hand, you need to have at least 2 things which are the minimum for you.

No matter what happens daily, you won’t go to bed without doing those. And that’s how you will achieve more and become an expert in those things.

Approach

Let’s flip it upside down. Once you wake up, the first 2 things you should do are your Minimum Viable Productivity. So it gets done no matter what. Because that’s the first thing you have to do.

And then carry on with your day. Do other stuff you have to do for job and such. Also try to do other productive things.

But be happy that you have done your minimum no matter what.

Therefore, whatever is your biggest priority, focus on that and you will get better in the long run. Do the minimum daily – no matter what.
