How you can challenge the existing systems when everyone around you likes it?
You can’t. Alone.
You need others to join you in your vision. When many people will share the same goal then perhaps it might become a reality. Not soon, if your expectations are illogical.
You should challenge the status quo when there is something wrong. When the systems are messed up, something has to take a stand and voice it. Maybe direct the people to do the right thing.
On the flip side it is easy for crowds to challenge the status quo for all the wrong reasons. Let fight for religion upgrade, reservations based on ten thousand-year old reference and so on.
When things don’t go right, take a pause and evaluate your perspective. Understand everyone’s voice and think with a rational mind. If possible bring someone neutral and rational to guide you. Don’t act on impulse.
Our society needs revolution – not just for the sake of it though.
Take pride on yourself, not on your label. When you want to see yourself as a credible and leading person, you need to bring in the positive change by disrupting the existing ecosystem. It takes courage and righteous guidance but it can be done.
You should go against the norms in society not because you hate them or the views don’t match with yours. If everyone can co-exist then it is optimal.
However if someone is discriminating, calling names or denying opportunities then you need to stand up. Your goal shouldn’t be to hate them. On the contrary you should make them understand the need for upgrade in perspective. Sometimes the old guys don’t level up their thinking with times.
You need to take the initiative to highlight the change. Do workshops, plays or distribute comics which inspire the message to love and co-exist without downgrading anyone.
Views differs, ideas differ and almost everything differs because we are humans. You need to let go off the feeling that your idea is right.
We don’t know and you shouldn’t care. It is okay if someone doesn’t align with your views. It is okay if you didn’t align with someone’s perspective.
The idea is to not preach or boast about self in the process. It is okay. The more acceptance we seek the more we move towards lovely society.
