Your life is tough – you need to go through many problems, hiccups and roadblocks. And when you find yourself struggling to cope up, there are beautiful relationship to hold you up. Sometimes it is your family while sometimes it is your dearest friend. You get uplifted by the warmth and care they bring in your life.
It is easy to think the support system is something everyone gets. Because you need to earn them and be great to have them by your side. You can’t assume everyone will flock to your rescue because you connected with them once. It demands a constant effort from your side to be great, helpful and make the impact.
Enter relationship checkpoints – these are the traits you need to show and practice. Of course it has to be mutual to have greater impact. These qualities are easy to overlook but you shouldn’t. It is the base of your rocking relationship with great people in your life.
Do you have those checkpoints in your relationships? Some of them might seem obvious and it is but you need to practice them. Let’s begin.
7- Be Honest
Honesty is the best policy and it always does good, one needs to just explain it clearly. Many situations arise in our daily lives, where we need to hide some information as we think it is in best interest. If that is something small like lying about how one looks, then it is okay.
But, if it is something which can do substantial harm if known in future, then one should say it beforehand only to avoid any big misunderstanding in future.
Remember to be light in words and change your body language according to the reaction. If necessary, say the truth in parts.
6- Speak Out
It happens with every relationship, we often form a bubble of image and then behave accordingly. It is not a good habit to assume about any person. If you have anything that bugs you, then talk about it directly to avoid any mishaps future.
Love is said to have communications without words, but most of the problems could be avoided and solved merely by speaking out.
When you hold your misunderstandings, it becomes huge and come back to bite you severely. Avoid it soon.
5- Give Your 100 Percent
There is no way a relationship could work if you aren’t ready to give your 100 percent. Anything less will make your relation questionable.
The first step towards healthy relationship starts with your own effort, it is you who are the stakeholder and client for your relation. If you don’t take charge 100 percent, then it will not be the desirable place where you need to take your relationship.
Whatever you do today, amplify it by twice and see the happy moments your partner will witness. The joy is immeasurable, it is a reciprocating deal.
4- Talk A Lot
Communication is the key, we talk with friends, family members a lot. But, if we don’t then the connection between us might go weak. This isn’t the case every time, but the relationship do get little awkward when there is less of talking.
If you need to find excuse yourself, do so, take the initiative and go forth. There is no better way to spice the relationship than making someone feel better by accompanying.
Life is half the times creating memories and other half talking about the memories with your loved ones.
3- Gift’s Are Always Welcomed
Gift are the pleasure things for kids, not for adults. Though we might say it sometimes, we all know inside of us that gifts are something that make us happy and so does for everyone.
Don’t expect gifts, but tend to give others gift surprisingly. This way you will experience immense happiness. A surprise cake on the birthday makes it the most special birthday. A walk alone in the park does wonders. You just need to go for gift.
For example, buy some chocolates or flowers today while going home and surprise. Try to find the reason later.
2- Distribute Time
We all have many relationships to maintain, some might be more important than others, but we shouldn’t risk any of it. Give each of the relationships their deserving time and you will amazed on how easy is to live with healthy relationships.
Sometimes you may need to give priority to one over other, that is fine, rest of the times manage the time and achieve your goals.
Too much friends and you have no one friend to spare. Less relationships with quality time spent results in an awesome life. Make one for yourself.
1- Fight Sometimes
Your relationship won’t have the all-time-good vibe. Sometimes you and your partner will want different things. For example, you might want to play games while your partner might want to watch a movie. A small argument and little disagreement is healthy.
But you should not let any kind of abuse. Don’t tolerate it. Otherwise have a small argument, fight with pillows and solve everything in the end.
In relationship, you need to sacrifice and understand each other. To add it has to be mutual. Both of you have to put in the effort for a relationship to rock.
A good rule of thumb – if you fight and a 3 year old isn’t getting impacted then it is a healthy fight. Else it might be something more serious – abuse which shouldn’t be tolerated. If you happen to be in abusive relationship then cut it off immediately. Otherwise a small fight here and there is needed to spice things up sometimes.
We all do one little thing to make our loved ones happy, bring a smile on their face and make our day too. Making sure you follow the above relationship checkpoints, you are bound to happy and achieve more.
What else can you do for a healthy relationship?
